Montblanc Voyage of Panorama – Edinas paper

Montblanc Voyage of Panorama

The Wes Anderson directed new campaign, Let’s Write, results in a short film that became a vivid celebration of writing, travel, and creativity. Set in the surreal Montblanc Observatory High-Mountain Library — a snowbound retreat high above the clouds — the campaign weaves together craftsmanship, storytelling, and iconic imagery.   The film’s narrative is structured around a journey — both literal and metaphorical — that unfolds aboard the Montblanc Voyage of Panorama, a theatrical train carriage passing through imagined landscapes as the characters reflect on what writing means: its power to pause time, to inspire curiosity, to record thoughts, and to connect.   Characters played by Wes Anderson himself, Rupert Friend, Michael Cera, Waris Ahluwalia, and Esther McGregor join in this poetic, quiet celebration of putting pen to paper.  Within the film’s world, Montblanc’s iconic objects appear naturally — not as overt advertisements but as companions on this journey: the Meisterstück fountain pen; the “Schreiberling”, a pen designed by Anderson; a Portable Writing Table; a Writing Traveler Bag; even a Minerva Pocket Watch. These items underscore the Maison’s legacy of craftsmanship and its relationship to writing as both ritual and creativity.  For Montblanc latest window display campaign, we translated that cinematic world into tangible form

Our central piece of the storytelling is a fully realized, paper and wood crafted train car, echoing the Voyage of Panorama. We imagined what it would mean to step into that carriage: the curves, the windows, the rhythm of travel — all built from delicate wood and paper, layer upon layer. Inside the train, a paper cyclist rides across the backdrop — a nod to the Let’s Write campaign’s spirit of curiosity and movement. He connects the scenery behind each window, becoming a bridge between imagination and reality, story and storyteller.
Every nut, hinge, panel, light-fixture was inspired by the movies visual world. We used soft muted tones, symmetrical elements, touches of green and gold, textured surfaces to evoke wood and metal — everything to capture that Anderson sensibility. Our journey with Montblanc began two years ago, with their Wes Anderson-inspired campaign for the centenary of the Meisterstück. Since then, our partnership has grown: from paper worlds that echo the cinematic feel, to immersive sets and bespoke installations. This Let’s Write window is the latest flowering of that collaboration. At Edina’s Paper, we believe paper is not just a support for text, or a surface — it is a narrative medium. It holds texture, shadow, memory. It invites touch. It embodies craft. These are the same values that Montblanc brings forth: craftsmanship, writing, heritage, personal expression. We are honoured to help materialize those ideas through our work.
