For this landmark project, Edinas Paper was invited to bring Fortnum & Mason’s Favourites chocolate box illustrations to life in a spectacular series of window displays. The collection, beloved for its whimsical scenes of animals gathering and celebrating, became the inspiration for an immersive visual experience on Duke Street in the heart of London. Our challenge—and creative joy—was to take the playful 2D illustrations and translate them into large-scale, dimensional paper artistry. Each window was dedicated to a different colour story drawn from the chocolate boxes, with animals hosting lively parties in scenes full of personality and charm. Working closely with Fortnum’s creative team, we developed a world where every element—from teacups and butterflies to chandeliers and monkeys—was carefully crafted in paper. Our goal was not simply to replicate the illustration, but to elevate it: to make it tactile, spatial, and emotionally resonant for passersby.
What made these windows truly come alive was the integration of light and movement. We engineered subtle kinetic elements and layered lighting into the design, enhancing the sense of wonder and bringing warmth and depth to the storytelling. Visitors could spot twinkling chandeliers, gently flapping butterfly wings, and even a glowing hot air balloon lifting off—all crafted from paper, all powered by precision and imagination. As always, the process was deeply collaborative. This installation was made possible by the incredible team at Edinas Paper—artists, designers, technicians, and paper engineers—working in harmony to transform a creative vision into a vivid retail experience. From prototyping and colour testing to on-site installation, every detail was executed with care, joy, and craftsmanship.
