Following the success of Montblanc’s Let’s Write campaign, our collaboration continues with the next chapter of the Voyage of Panorama. While the iconic train carriage remains at the heart of the installation, the scenery beyond its windows transforms completely, inviting visitors on an imaginary journey through the serene landscapes of East Asia. Inspired by a series of beautiful watercolour paintings, the display embraces a softer, dreamlike atmosphere.
Delicate washes of pastel blues, blush pinks and gentle greens define the new environment, recreating the ethereal quality of
the original artwork while translating it into a fully immersive three-dimensional experience. Leaving behind the snow-covered mountains of the previous chapter, the carriage now glides through blossoming cherry trees, tranquil ponds filled with koi fish and graceful dragonflies floating through the air. Although the destination has changed, the train remains the familiar companion, continuing its timeless journey of creativity, craftsmanship and discovery

The greatest challenge—and joy—of this project was transforming the expressive brushstrokes of Montblanc’s original watercolour illustrations into a sculptural paper installation. We interpreted the softness of the paintings through hundreds of individually crafted tracing paper components. Multiple layers of laser-cut paper create depth, transparency and movement, allowing the scenery to feel almost as if it has stepped directly out of the paintings. The dragonflies appear to hover weightlessly between the blossoms, while the koi fish are constructed from finely layered paper elements that replicate the delicate textures and subtle colour transitions of the original artwork.
The cherry blossoms were individually shaped to capture the lightness of spring, while the dragonflies and koi fish were built from multiple precisely cut layers that recreate the richness and texture of Montblanc’s original watercolour illustrations. This layered construction allows subtle shadows, transparency and colour variation to emerge naturally, bringing depth and realism to each creature.
Working from the beautiful watercolour concepts developed by Montblanc’s creative team, we were honoured to translate their vision into an immersive paper environment that invites passers-by to slow down, dream and travel through imagination. Just as writing transports us to new places, the Voyage of Panorama continues its journey—this time through the poetic landscapes of East Asia, where delicate blossoms, graceful creatures and masterful craftsmanship come together to celebrate the beauty of exploration.
