MACYS FLOWER SHOW POP UP – Edinas paper

MACYS FLOWER SHOW POP UP

Following the success of our festive windows, this project marks our second collaboration with Macy’s Chicago—this time celebrating the revival of a beloved tradition rooted in the legacy of Marshall Field’s.

The 2026 Flower Show, Homegrown, reimagines the historic State Street experience through a series of immersive, greenhouse-inspired installations placed throughout the store.  At the heart of the design is a collection of bespoke green house structures, framing layered botanical compositions that blend fresh florals with handcrafted paper artistry. Delicate paper flowers—each representing one of the 50 U.S. states—are interwoven with living plants including tulips, hydrangeas, magnolias, and roses. This interplay between real and crafted elements creates a rich visual dialogue between permanence and seasonality.

Throughout the installation, sculptural paper foliage, oversized blooms, and detailed botanical studies unfold across arches, corridors, and focal points—transforming the retail environment into a curated garden journey. These interventions are designed not only as visual highlights but as photo-worthy, experiential moments, encouraging visitors to pause, explore, and engage.A central feature draws inspiration from the iconic State Street fountain, reinterpreted through a lush botanical setting, while surrounding spaces echo the architectural language of conservatories—layered greenery, ornamental structures, and soft, diffused color palettes.

Subtle references to the building’s Marshall Field’s heritage are woven into the design, honoring the past while reintroducing the Flower Show as a contemporary retail experience. Events like these play a vital role in reactivating the store—bringing energy, increasing foot traffic, and supporting the return of meaningful, experience-driven retail traditions. Crafted by Edinas Paper, the installation highlights a signature approach to storytelling through material—where paper becomes a medium for precision, depth, and imagination.

The 2026 Macy’s Flower Show Pop-Up is both a celebration of spring and a tribute to legacy—bridging past and present through design, craftsmanship, and atmosphere.
